Hyderabadc : A delegation comprising 80 castes, including recognized and non-recognized organizations, nomads, SC, ST, MBCs and others today met with TRS MP Kavitha and pledged their support to the TRS in the forthcoming elections.
They expressed happiness that the TRS Chief K Chandrashekhar Rao has set up an MBC Corporation for the cause of the Most Backward Castes and appreciated the TRS leadership for its efforts. The team informed that the successive governments had failed to protect their interests in 70 years. However, the TRS regime in four-and-a-half years has taken a bold decision for their welfare. They said the KCR government allotted 10 acres land at Uppal Bhagayat for their welfare and Rs 10 crore for development.
The team appreciated the KCR government for such a decision which reflects the commitment for their welfare and self-respect of the tribes. “We have taken a decision to support the TRS leadership in the elections”, they said. The team also informed that the Centre did not implement the recommendations of Bikku Ramji Commission for their welfare in 2015. The team also urged Kavitha to take steps for waiver of loans obtained from MBC Commission and provide admissions in Gurukuls without entrance tests.
After a patient hearing, Kavitha assured them that she would lead a team to Delhi to meet with Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment to resolve their issues. (NSS)
