‘Ab ki baar, Kisan Sarkar’ to be the main agenda of BRS

In national politics, the newly formed Bharat Rashtra Samithi (formerly Telangana Rashtra Samithi) will have “Ab ki Baar, Kisan Sarkar” as its main agenda. The party will work to bring about a qualitative change in national politics and governance in order to ensure the country’s overall development.

During a general body meeting held at the party headquarters in Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad on Friday, BRS President and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao made these announcements to thunderous applause from party leaders.

On December 14, Chandrashekhar Rao is scheduled to inaugurate the party’s national office in Delhi, where he is expected to address the national media and explain the party’s national plans to the people of the country.

Chandrashekhar Rao told party leaders at Telangana Bhavan that India would soon have a farmer-friendly government at the Centre. He stated that the party would raise the pink flag in Delhi and play an important role in national politics.

Youth, who make up 52% of the total population, should be made partners in the nation’s development by instituting new economic reforms, he said, adding that the Telangana model would be replicated across the country by maximizing the use of available natural resources.

The BRS chief emphasized the importance of preserving the nation’s federal spirit and providing basic services to all in accordance with the Indian Constitution. He stated that the party was developing new policies in agriculture, the economy, the environment, irrigation and drinking water, power and women empowerment, among others.

“In democracy, people should be the ultimate winners, not political parties. The country urgently needs a new economic policy. There should be no more water wars between States,” he said.

Chandrashekhar Rao also announced that the BRS would contest its first elections in Karnataka, where Assembly elections are scheduled for May next year, in collaboration with the Janata Dal (S). He expressed his complete support for the JD(S) and wanted the party leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy to assume the position once again.

He advised party leaders to ignore criticism from opposition parties about the BRS’s foray into national politics. He claimed that the party had overcome similar criticism and gone on to achieve Telangana, in addition to developing the young state into a role model for others.
