BRS aims to achieve nation’s self-reliance by entering national politics: Harish Rao

Welcoming the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) approval of the name change of Telangana Rashtra Samithi to Bharat Rashtra Samithi, Finance Minister T Harish Rao stated that the TRS had achieved its goal of self-rule with the formation of Telangana State and was now aiming to achieve national self-reliance by entering national politics.

Harish Rao stated in a series of tweets that the TRS was founded to fight for the cause of Telangana State and that it had achieved its goal with the formation of the State. The party President K Chandrashekhar Rao, had risked his life to achieve the State and then went on to fulfill the people’s aspirations by developing the State in all sectors.

“The union government, union Ministers, NITI Aayog and others have appreciated Telangana’s growth, terming it as a role model in implementing development and welfare programmes. As the State has achieved great success in many sectors, we want the country to develop on the same lines. This is the mission taken up by Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao to bring a qualitative change in the country,” he tweeted.

On the occasion, he extended his best wishes to the people of the state as well as the party cadre, saying that the people should work together to achieve national self-reliance in the same spirit that the State is being developed under the leadership of the Chief Minister.

It was also reported that TRS leaders and workers celebrated in all districts as soon as the EC approved the BRS, lighting crackers and distributing sweets. The CM requested that all members of the party’s state executive committee, district presidents, ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, zilla parishad chairpersons, and chairpersons of various corporations attend the inaugural ceremony without fail.
