Aghast Ashok Parmar, the poster boy of Hindutva, giving up Hinduism soon

Once portrayed as the most fearsome face of Hindutva during 2002 Gujarat riots Ashok Parma alias Ashok Mochi – the poster boy of Hindutva, has now found sitting on a road and venting frustration against his once most adorable religion called Hinduism.

“I am going to get salvage from Hindu religion and even from my Dalit identity soon after the Gujarat elections,” said Parmar when he was interviewed by a news channel.

Found busy in boot polishing at a corner of a road in famous city of Ahmadabad, Parmar said, “I am completely fed up with the religion I born in as there is nothing important in it except the caste domination while there is no respect in living a life even as a Dalit. So, I am renouncing both the Hindu religion as well as my sub-caste as Dalit soon.”

While the Dalits were thrown out of the esteem in Hinduism, he said, the common people too hold no value in Gujarat’s society for how big they contributed for the religion, society or the state of Gujarat.

“People like me hold no worth. What comes first in the state of Gujarat are only the community as well as the caste,” he rued.

When asked about the fearsome face he was depicted during the 2002 Gujarat Riots, the Cobbler said, “At that time, I went out of my cool while showing sympathy towards the victims of the Godhra incident.” However he claimed that he was largely confined to venting out frustration and did no harm to anyone.

“Only after the 2002 riots I realised the true face of the so-called custodians of Hinduism as well as the leaders of Dalit community for the first time,” he stated adding that “Hinduism has no respect for Dalits, while the Dalit society have no respect for the poor like me. Only the well-off from the Hindu community as well as the Dalits rule the roost in Gujarat’s society. People like me count nothing here,” he bemoaned.

“It is against this reason, I am going to renounce both Hinduism as well as the Dalit identity in month or two and will embrace communism,” declared Parmar.
