AI and machine learning courses offered by government colleges in Telangana

The government degree colleges have introduced new courses for students interested in pursuing their undergrad. A three-year degree program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is being offered this year by 11 autonomous government degree colleges.

Several engineering colleges in the State have been offering courses in AI and machine learning at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These 11 government degree colleges have decided to offer BSc in AI and ML due to the huge demand for the course among students and the ample employment opportunities available in this field.

On Wednesday, the State University of Telangana (SUT) announced the launch of a new course with 60 seats that can be accessed through Degree Online Services, Telangana (DOST). Due to its autonomous status, each college designs and develops its course curriculum.

An Indian startup aims to empower students through coding

Code for India is a foundation started by city-based serial entrepreneur Meraj Faheem that focuses on providing equal opportunities to deserving students.

As a result of Meraj combining his parent company “The Hacking School” with the Australian startup incubator I-College, the foundation came into existence in December 2019. The Hacking School was founded in 2013 to provide students with a platform for learning and improving their coding skills.

During an interview with Siasat.com, Meraj said, “I believe in the power of coding, and I am keen to set up a program to promote coding in India.”

While working on two other start-ups, the entrepreneur came up with the idea to initiate the program in 2011-12. Meraj studied Silicon Valley’s methods for promoting coding extensively before creating this initiative here. Having conducted extensive research, the entrepreneur organized coding boot camps in Hyderabad. The company was initially managed by me alone. Eventually, I met people willing to join the company and channel their knowledge for the greater good, he explained.
