AIMIM Leader Urges Inclusion of Urdu in Telangana Jobs

The floor leader of the All India Majlis e Ittehad ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) in Telangana, Akbaruddin Owaisi, has called on the Congress government to de-reserve Urdu language jobs through DCS (Direct Recruitment System for the Posts of Teachers) and ensure that all vacancies in these positions are filled.

On Saturday, December 16, Akbaruddin Owaisi addressed the state legislative assembly, thanking the former Bharat Rashtra Samithi government for raising Urdu to the level of second language. He did, however, criticize the Congress party for failing to mention Urdu in their election manifesto, noting, “The KCR government gave the language a higher position, but it was not given its due.”

Akbaruddin Owaisi urged the government to remove Urdu language posts from the direct recruitment strategy for Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Backward Classes (BCs). He expressed hope that the chief minister Revnath Reddy, will address the issue and do the language justice.

In response to the demand for linguistic inclusion, Owaisi encouraged the Congress government to hold all competitive exams in Urdu, as well as Telugu and English. He went on to say, “All departmental promotion exams and recruitment exams must be conducted in Urdu language as well since it is the second language of the state.”

This call from Akbaruddin Owaisi emphasizes the necessity of linguistic variety and inclusivity in government employment processes, especially in a multilingual state like Telangana, where Urdu is widely spoken.
