AIMIM pitch for CBI enquiry into Waqf Land encroachment issue

In a new development the AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi while raising the issue of encroachments over Waqf Lands in the state today in the State Assembly, has demanded CBI enquiry into the matter.

Claiming that 50 percent of the lands were encroached by the government institutions, he said “Despite it was proved in the second survey that the many of the Waqf lands were encroached upon, no notification was issued so far. Waqf lands of Dargarh Hussain Shah Wali (RA), Baba Sharuddin (RA), Dargah Mir Momin (RA) or lands in Alair are among the list of Waqf properties that are reeling under encroachments. People, some even prominent figures have encroached upon Waqf lands simply for their selfish gains.”

“There were voices raised asking facilities and benefits for the upliftment of Muslim community, but I would like to say that government should first hand over the encroached Waqf lands in the state to Muslims. Nothing has changed over the years. Though the Telangana state ushered development through setting up several airports and established multinational companies, the pace of prosperity of Muslims in the state remained tardy,” asserted Owaisi.

Blaming that no government shows any sincerity towards the issues concerning to Waqf Properties and the welfare of the Muslim Community, Junior Owaisi said, I am keep-on raising the issue for the past 25 years but the government giving no hoot to my nitpicking. Waqf Board locker room sealed for years but to no avail.

Fervently demanding the Telangana government to order an enquiry through CB-CID, CBI enquiry or from a sitting judge in the matter to establish the extent of land encroached, the number of encroachers and the left over properties that were remain untouched, the AIMIM Floor leader said, “The people enjoying possessions over Waqf lands simply after encroaching the properties should be unmasked publicly. Protection of Waqf lands would turn out to be a panacea for several issues concerning Muslim community and change the course of their development in the state.”

Contending that several issues of Muslims will be resolved through safeguarding the Waqf lands in the state, he said the speaker should order an enquiry into the matter of encroachments over Waqf lands in the state sensing the enormity of the case. YTN
