Air quality in Hyderabad fluctuates between moderate and poor

Air pollution in Hyderabad remains a major concern, as the city’s air quality continues to deteriorate despite efforts to improve it.

Pollution levels have risen due to increased vehicular traffic and business activity, with air quality varying between moderate and poor over the last month.

Zoo Park area sees worst air quality in Hyderabad

The Zoo Park area, in particular, has been found to have the city’s worst air quality, with its AQI never improving from ‘poor’ in the last 30 days.

One of the major contributors to the decline in air quality is the heavy traffic congestion surrounding the Zoo Park area. The city’s hot and dry climate exacerbates pollution problems, resulting in high levels of PM2.5 and PM10, which are responsible for poor air quality.

The AQI level in the Zoo Park area is currently 162, with PM2.5 and PM10 levels of 79 and 99, respectively.

The Banjara Hill area, on the other hand, has the best air quality in Hyderabad, with an AQI of 28 and a ‘Good’ rating.

What exactly is AQI?

The AQI (Air Quality Index) is a measure of air quality in a particular area. It divides air quality into six categories based on AQI value, from ‘Good’ (0-50) to ‘Hazardous’ (401-500).

Air quality is an important aspect of human life because an average person inhales approximately 14,000 liters of air per day. Contaminants in the air can have a negative impact on health.

It is critical to take measures to improve air quality in Hyderabad, such as reducing vehicular emissions and promoting cleaner business practices.
