Hyderabad: AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi today criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his unwarranted comments on Triple Talaq issue.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, Owaisi alleged that Modi was making political comments on Talaq issue and failed to take steps to protect interests of people. Modi’s remarks were meant only to woo the voters for the upcoming polls, he said. Akbaruddin was referring to Modi’s comments during his campaigning at LB Stadium here that they have brought in Triple Talaq Act to protect the women of Muslim community. Modi also sought help of women, who hate Triple Talaq, and promised to protect them from such bad practices.
Reacting to this, Akbaruddin made serious comment whether Modi gave similar rights to his wife. “Though Modi talks about interests of Muslim women and girls, he should tell us whether he gave such rights to his own wife”, Akbaruddin asked. He also condemned Modi’s comments that the MIM was stalling Hyderabad development. “The Prime Minister made a false remark and the MIM was always for Hyderabad development”, he asserted. Modi should not forget that DRDO in Hyderabad has contributed for Mission Shakthi being claimed by the BJP Government for political gains. (NSS)
