Ambedkar statue will be completed by Dec: KTR

Telangana IT & Industries Minister KT rama Rao has assured that the construction of a 125-feet tall statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar will be completed by the end of December this year

KT Rama Rao, along with Social Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar, inspected the ongoing works pertaining to the installation of 125feet statue on the PV Marg Road in the city on Wednesday. On the occasion, KTR told the media that the works are going on at the brisk pace and Social Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar is monitoring the works from time to time in a bid to complete them as early as possible.

The State government is spending Rs 150 crore for installing the statue along with construction of a meditation centre, photo gallery and meeting hall and among other amenities, aimed at attracting a large number of tourists to the spot,” he said. The Minister said the State government, under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is sincerely working to fulfil the aspirations of Dr Ambedkar by implementing various welfare schemes for the Scheduled Castes.

Meanwhile, addressing at a program in connection with Ambedkar birth anniversary celebrations at Begumpet, KTR said all people should have equal rights and Telangana has been achieved by choosing path of Ambedkar. “God has created all people equal. But, they are divided into caste, creed and regional lines. A very unfortunate situation prevailed in the society. I think there are only two sections in the people. One is the rich while another one is poor. If the wealth is equally shared by to people belonging to all sections, no question will arise and the country would make more progress,” KTR opined.
