Amberpet Tops the List with 90.7mm Rainfall since Saturday

Amid the cloudy weather playing hide and seek since last week, the Telangana state received 19.3 millimeter Rainfall during the last 24 hours as against 4.9 mm normal. While light to moderate rainfall was recorded all over the state, the Gangadhara area in Karimnagar district received the highest rainfall of 113.2 mm since Saturday morning.

While the Gangadhara area in Karimnagar district stood top on the light with 113.2 mm rainfall the Nagula Vancha area of Khammam district smarts under scorching heat with the highest maximum temperature of 34.0 Degree Celsius during the same period.

Also, heavy rainfall of 64.5 to 111.5mm was recorded at a few places in Kumram Bheem, Jagtial, Nizamabad, Siddipet, Medal, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool and Suryapet districts.

However, during the same period the Amberpet mandal of Hyderabad district received the highest rainfall of 90.7mm in GHMC limits that cover mostly Hyderabad district and its surrounding areas. The GHMC area witnessed cumulative average rainfall of 863.0 mm during June 1 to October 17 as against the 649 mm normal showers with 33 percent deviation.

Meanwhile, according to a fresh prediction of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain or thundershowers at few places on October 18. The low pressure area over north Telangana and neighbourhood with the associated cyclonic circulation extends upto 5.8 kilometer mean sea level is persisting and it is expected to move northwestwards towards west Uttar Pradesh during next 2 to three days.
