Amit Shah Promises To Fill Fencing Gaps With Pakistan, Bangladesh by 2022

With the changing relationship between India and China, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that all the border fencing gaps with Pakistan and Bangladesh will be filled till 2022.

Amit Shah Assures Fencing Issues With Neighbouring Countries To Be Solved Soon 

Shah made the announcement to fill the fencing gaps while addressing the 18th Border Security Force Investiture Ceremony. During his speech, he noted that fencing on the border with neighbouring nations like Pakistan and Bangladesh is important for security. He said there is no benefit of fencing the border if the gaps are not filled. And he wants to ensure that there will be no fencing gap on the border by 2022.

He said that all the issues related to the fencing project have already been resolved. And in case anything else comes up during the implementation of the project in the future, it would be resolved too.

As per the reports, the Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System (CIBMS) entails the deployment of smart fences, surveillance gadget and anti-infiltration alarms. The deployment of these has been sped up by the border management division that works under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the Border Security Force (BSF)

Amit Shah Praises PM Modi’s Defence Policy 

In the Ceremony, the Amit Shah said that no one can challenge India’s borders. He said that there was no (reportedly) defence policy before Prime Minister Narendra Modi formed the government in 2014.

He claimed that earlier, foreign policy dictated the defence policy or vice-versa. However, as of this day, he said that because of the initiatives by PM Modi, no can challenge India’s borders and sovereignty.

Talking about the recent drone attack at Jammu airbase, he said that the DRDO and other agencies are planning countermeasures. He added that they must prepare for the use of Artificial Intelligence and robotics by “Pakistan based terror groups”.
