Andhra Pradesh Government to Provide Free House Sites on December 25

The Andhra Pradesh government will provide documents for free house sites to the eligible individuals on December 25, including the initiation of housing construction for poor people.

A senior government official said that housing sites will be allocated by providing the necessary documents. As many as 30.6 lakh beneficiaries have been identified across the state.

In a video meeting on Wednesday, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy guided the district collectors to finish the preliminary attempts to disperse lodging destinations just as for the house development plot.

Under the ‘Pedalandariki Illu’ (home for all poor people) scheme, the construction of 15.1 lakh houses will be taken up in Phase I on December 25.

In the initial phase, the government will build 15 lakh houses at an expense of Rs 1.80 lakh each, without compromising on its quality, it stated, adding that the houses will be given to the beneficiaries without any cost. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy declared this on Wednesday during the Spandana review program with district collectors.

Reddy stated the scheme will be a lead program under the government’s ‘Navaratnalu’ program.

Reddy said that this would boost the state’s economy and further encourage employment in urban and rural areas.

The Chief Minister expressed that the government needs to wage a legal battle in court to give house sites to poor people due to the conspiracies of the Opposition parties.

Jagan declared that the government obtained 66,518 acres of land worth Rs 23,000 crore for house sites for poor people. The government will allocate house sites within the span of 90 days to eligible beneficiaries who apply afresh, he said, and included that 1.20 lakh fresh beneficiaries were added to the scheme, for which 80,000 additional acres of land would be procured.

The Chief Minister additionally directed the officials to map and geo-tag the houses of the chosen beneficiaries by December 10.
