Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission today announced the schedule for the by-election of one berth of State legislative council which was vacant due to the resignation of Mopidevi Venkatramna who was elevated as a member of Upper house of the Parliament by the ruling YSR Congress party. Mopidevi Venkatramna represented the state cabinet as a member of the council.
The election for the seat is necessary as he has resigned from the membership of the Council after he was elected for the Rajya Sabha.
The notification of by-election would be released on the 6th of the next month and 13th August would be the last date to file the nominations. The polling will be held on 24th August and the counting would be on the same day. Many aspirants are seen for this seat from the ruling party YSR Congress.
