Arogyasri scheme will join with Central Government’s health scheme: Health minister

Hyderabad: Arogyasri of the Telangana government will go with Central Government’s Ayushman Bharat health scheme for people.  This was informed by health minister Etela Rajender here.

In a reverse turn, the state government has agreed to go with Ayushman Bharat as it was agreed by Chief Minister,  K Chandrasekhar Rao after his return from Delhi where he met with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

Talking to presspersons here the minister stated that the government of Telangana has agreed to dovetail with the Ayushman Bharat health program.  His remarks of using the central health scheme get significant as it has been set aside so far in the state by the government.

It may be said here that Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar informed Modi in a virtual meeting yesterday that Telangana Arogyasri will dovetail with Ayushman Bharat.  The minister said that Arogyasri is far better than Ayushman Bharat as the former treats about 80 lakhs of people while the latter about 26 lakhs only.

We have urged the Centre to provide Rs 300 cr financial support for the scheme as we spend Rs 1200 crore for it.  Be it the center or the state the funds are of people,  Rajender stated.  On reported reports of injustice caused to Telangana students on medical seats, a committee was formed to look into the issue he said.  As per reorganization combined AP norms will prevail for 10 years he said.

On Corona vaccination drive we are prepared by offering training for 10000 medical staff.
