Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy today said that raids on spurious and fake seeds are going on in the state.
At a video conference from Ranga Reddy collector office with top officials he instructed the revenue, Agriculture, police officers to coordinate to conduct rides at intensifying field level inspection.
With the rides the traders of fake seeds are fearing now he said. So far 177 cases filed 276 persons arrested and 32 act cases filed in this season the minister said. He informed that the traders belong to Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra are involved in such illegal business. This will be pressed with iron hand the minister warned.

Niranjan Reddy said that focus be on cotton, chilly seeds sale as there is a chance to make some corrections in cottonseed pockets with RIB percent.
The previous 1966 seeds act is not appropriate and the Government will make necessary amendments to it for the present situation he said. There is no need of filing cases on everything as some corrections can be made he said. We will simplify license processing in the state. The Minister asked the district task force to address local issues.
