In the latest update, the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) of Bahrain has approved of the Covaxin for emergency use.
Covaxin Will Be Available In Bahrain For People Above 18
As per the reports, Covxin will be available in Bahrain for people above the age of 18 years. People travelling to Bahrain from India with the vaccine certificate issued by India and approved by WHO will be exempted from the mandatory 10 days mandatory quarantine and a negative RTPCR report.

In the statement, the NHRA said that the decision comes after careful evaluation of data provided by Bharat Biotech carried out by the Authority’s Clinical Trials Committee and Bahrain’s Ministry of Health Immunization Committee.
The NHRA further informed that more than 26,000 people participated in the clinical trials and established the two-dose regimen dose in 77.8 per cent effectiveness against Covid 19. And around 93.4 per cent effectiveness against the severe cases of the virus.
WHO Grants EUL to Covaxin
This comes after the WHO granted emergency use listing to Covaxin. The global health body took to Twitter and said that Covaxin meets standards for protection against Covid 19 and the benefit of the vaccine outweighs the risks.

The nod for Covaxin came after a lengthy process that last over 6 months. The approval will further facilitate easier international travel for the ones who have taken the Covaxin dose as they would not have to go through strict travel restrictions.
The WHO ensured that they cannot ‘cut corners’ while recommending vaccines for the emergency use listing. So far, Covaxin has been administered to over 1.2 million people in India. It has proved 87 per cent effectiveness against symptomatic cases. At the same time, it has provided 65.2 per cent protection against the new Delta variant.
