Banks employees facing the cumbersome situation

Hyderabad: Banks employees across the Telangana have been facing a new cumbersome and peculiar situations in recent times thanks to the COVID 19 pandemic. The new concern and unknown fear chasing them by each passing day. 5636 employees are working in the private and government sector banks in the Hyderabad.

The banking sector comes under essential services and its 50 thousand odd workforces of different branches are providing full-fledged services to their customers without much gap after the lockdown rules were relaxed.

 Recently the two staff members of a bank were died due to Covid19. The corona tests were undergone recently at the Bank of India zonal office, SBI Secunderabad Zonal office, and Bank of Baroda office.  Daily numerous Corona cases have been registering. It is a disturbing factor for them

  The various unions of the bank employees are demanding to cut short the working hours of the banks beside several other measures for their safety. They called upon the state government to ensure that the banks should function with a one-day interval, allowed only 50 percent of the staff to work, and declared a holiday every Saturday.

 United Forum of Bank Union Telangana Branch has dashed a letter in this regard to state Ministers Harish Rao, K.Tarak Rama Rao, and Niranjan Reddy. The representatives of these Unions also called on personally to Minister for Agriculture Niranjan Reddy and asked him to take the policy decision on this matter by intervening it.  In addition to this UFBA, AIBOC Union leaders met Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and urged him to pursue the matter. Union leaders said that they will announce the future course of action after getting a positive response from the State Government and State level Bankers committee as well.
