BJP leaders meet Guv on pontiff’s externment

Hyderabad: Protesting the externment of Sri Peetam Chief Swamy Paripoornananda from Hyderabad City for six months, the State BJP leaders met Governor ESL Narasimhan and submitted a memorandum at Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday evening. They urged the Governor to make the State government to order an inquiry into the house arrest of Swami Paripoornananda and his banishment from Hyderabad city.

They said it was not proper on the part of police to initiate action against Paripoornananda in a manner that they violated democratic rights. They asked the Governor, who supposed to protect the Constitution, to order an inquiry into the government’s action. They urged the Governor to render justice to Swamy Paripoornananda by ordering an inquiry into the six months externment.
Speaking to the media after meeting Governor, BJLP leader G Kishan Reddy alleged that the police put Swamy under house arrest by misusing their power. There was a need for the police to reveal as to why they put Swamiji under house arrest and six months banishment. The Governor has responsibility to provide security to people if the State government behaved against them with discrimination in Hyderabad city following the Division Act.

He pulled up the State government as to why it failed to initiate action against MIM party leaders when they spoke hurting sentiments of Hindus. He also asked State government what happened about the case filed against MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi for making derogatory remarks against Hindu religion. (NSS)
