BJP starts 55-day footmarch in Telangana; disses “Taliban mindset” slur at unnamed party

Giving a blind eye to the covid numbers, the BJP has started a 55-day footmarch to campaign and throw slurs at the ruling party. Thousands of BJP supporters and members took part in the rally that began today in Hyderabad. The padyatra called “Praja Sangrama” was headed by state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay who went ahead to use the serious situation of Taliban as a campaigning resource by calling an un-named party as the one having a “Taliban mindset”.

Sanjay tried to attack the Telangana Rashtra Samithi led by the Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao by pledging to “liberate Telangana from the family and dictatorial rule of KCR”. He went ahead and provocatively asked the participants if they wanted a party with the “Taliban mindset” to exist in their state. The slur seemed to refer to Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM party.

The footmarch was anything but an effort to understand the health hazards of conducting a public rally, without concern for the possible covid-19 infections following this.

The state BJP chief also weirdly dared the CM to organize a Ganesh Shobha Yatra and Hanuman Jayanti and start it from the Old City despite the pandemic.

The Bhagya Lakshmi temple situated near Charminar was the starting point for Sanjay’s padyatra. The streets were filled with orange flags, hoardings and banners carried by BJP supporters who were also chanting “Jai Sri Ram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”.

Several fear the rally to become a covid hotspot as thousands paid no heed to the danger and continued giving wings to their political beliefs.

Attacking the TRS government and KCR, Sanjay said the promises of unemployment allowances to the youth, jobs and a 125-feet tall BR Ambedkar statue were not fulfilled by the CM. He also mentioned the appointment of a Dalit chief minister to hit back at KCR’s recent announcement of a ‘Dalit Bandhu Scheme.

“Only his family has benefitted because of the formation of Telangana. Now he is talking about Dalit Bandhu Scheme… Whereas he is responsible for the suicides of unemployed youth, farmers and students,” he claimed.

However, the TRS party was quick to react to the accusations and threatened of chopping off Sanjay’s tongue for making such absurd and “false allegations”. They told him to instead go to Delhi and conduct the footmarch for getting more Central funds for Telangana.

Adding fuel to the fire was Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, G Kishan Reddy, who was also seen in the march. He expressed his confidence in BJP turning victorious in the assembly elections of the state in 2023 after this.
