Amid the fallout between the BRS Supremo K.Chandrashekhar Rao and the BJP led Central government, the dejected pink party leaders having no hope of getting ticket from their own party to contest in upcoming elections in the state have stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea as neither they have a chance to get the ticket from their own party nor the saffron party is reportedly giving any assurance regarding the party ticket.
It is said that a communiqué regarding not to commit party tickets to any BRS leader passed directly from the BJP high command to the state unit. It is learnt that several BRS and Congress leaders are in touch with the BJP leadership in the state but they are holding wait and watch policy due as the saffron leadership is not ready to promise tickets to any one of them until and unless it receives a green signal from the central leadership.
Though the BJP continue its subtle activities and keep on promoting hindutva ideology in Telangana state, the BRS and Congress leaders willing to jump into the saffron fold were told to join the BJP first and take active role in the party programs regardless of the party ticket as the final call regarding awarding tickets to them will be taken on appropriate time.
Some senior BJP leaders are of the view that the saffron party will not give any assurance regarding party tickets to leaders willing to join BJP simply playing down the party principles. Instead, the party will prefer the leaders working at ground level. However, in case if any strong opposition leader is willing to join the BJP, the equations between the leader and the saffron cadre will be ascertained first before taking a final call regarding to whom the ticket will be awarded.
It is said that the committee formed to look into the issue of opposition leaders willing to join the saffron fold made it clear that no leader from other parties will be given any ticket or post soon after joining the BJP. “The final call with regard to the party ticket will only be taken after going through the suggestions of the reports and ascertaining the winning ability of the candidate besides the opinion of the party cadre,” they said.
