Raising doubts over the BJPs win in recently held Uttar Pradesh elections, Dr.Ram Puniyani, a renowned political analyst, said “Despite lukewarm public response to BJP’s meetings and rallies during the hustling – as many journalists extensively talk and hinted at Samajwadi Party’s win this time, the saffron party returned to power with exceptional win. Surely, the EVMs may have played a crucial role in elevating the BJP to power again in the state.”
Reacting over the outcome of recently held elections in Uttar Pradesh on his own channel, he said, “There may be few other reasons for BJP’s impressive performance this time that include implementing schemes and weeding out ‘gundaism’ from the state as was argued by many analysts.”
However, he further said, this is the same Uttar Pradesh were unemployment ratio shoots up out of proportionate during the last five years, scores of people died during mass migration, lack of oxygen in hospitals during corona pandemic and then comes the heart wrenching incident wherein bodies were found floating on the river Ganga.
“Several farmers were killed when Ashok Mishra, the son of a Central Minister, ploughed his car into public killing several farmers. Dalit girls were brutally gang raped and murdered in Unnau and Hathras. Notwithstanding these incidents, the BJP regains power in Uttar Pradesh,” he bemoaned.
“People should analyse the reasons behind the BJP’s success despite an awful style of function. Though the people are of the view that ‘Ram and Ration’ mantra has actually worked adequately in BJP’s favour but there is no element of plausibility in saying so except the ration that may have worked a little for the saffron party,” Argued Puniyani.
“The important factor behind BJP’s unwavering success is the RSS who has successfully set the polarisation process into motion through its various organisations in the country especially in Uttar Pradesh. It stokes up a campaign saying the Congress and SP is always there to favour the Muslims, then who will come to support the Hindus? All the BJP leaders, especially CM Yogi spewed venom against Muslims on every stage using false narratives and wax eloquence. Even PM Modi is using the same tone against the Muslims indirectly to ferment the communal chaos,” he pointed.
BJP is not an individual entity as a whole, it is a part of a gigantic organisation called the RSS that harboured several organisations such as Akhil Bharitiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Vishwa Hindu Parishad among myriad number of other institution that play an important role for BJP during elections.
The organisation carries a member-base in lakhs while hundreds of preachers work to propagate the saffron agenda. All of them were used during the elections. They were told to work for BJP to ensure its victory.
Even during the recently held elections, Dr.Puniyani said, “The RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, after knowing that the two early trends were gone completely against the BJP, made an appeal urged his cadre to use Balakote Air strikes rhetoric to foment nationalism and play Ram Mandir and Kashi corridor tune to polarise the society on communal lines.”
Moreover, he said, the entire BJP is a propaganda network that spreads from cities to rural areas. It gives a twist to every issue that may play as spoil spots for the party and try their hard to manufacture the opinion in the party’s favour.
