Boycott call against Muslims will hand a severe blow back to the country: Anand Vardhan

Raising concerns over the call for an economic boycott of Muslims in India, Anand Vardhan Singh, the Senior Journalist said, “This boycott call will turn into severe blow back for the country. We have seen pictures of prominent Indian politicians stuck to trash bins in several Muslims countries, especially in the Middle East after the Nupur Sharma episode. Watching these pictures of our elected representatives wallowing in filth make us quite ashamed of. Now, the call has been echoed for a boycott of Muslims in India. Where will it lead us?”

Anand Vardhan Singh, also an author and founding editor of The Public India, was expressing his view during a debate on a news channel over the boycott call against the Muslims by BJP MP Parvesh Verma recently at Ramlila Maidan in Northeastern Delhi. He was seen spewing venom against Muslim community urging the cheering gathering to go for an economic boycott of Muslims wherever they found.

Out of the whole world, Muslims nations accounts for more than 50 countries where Islam rules the roost,” he reminded adding that “What if these Muslims countries gave a call to boycott Hindus. Then, where will we go?”

Explaining the whole picture with the help of statistics, Anand said, Indians staying and working in middle eastern countries send foreign exchange equal to the amount of GDP being produced by India. “If the Muslim countries start boycotting the Hindus from India then where will we go? Where this boycott of Muslims leads us,” he questioned.

“The most serious thing is the ‘politics of boycott’ which no one knows where it will lead to us. This is what the thing no one really bothered about. This is the present situation and if people in corridors of power can’t take it seriously then who else can do this?” I mean every organisation is turned upside down,” he argued.
