BRS committed for the development of Andhra Pradesh: Thota Chandrasekhar

In Andhra Pradesh, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is gaining traction as leaders from other parties join its ranks. A large number of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and YSR Congress Party (YCP) leaders and activists joined the BRS in Hyderabad on Saturday.

Dr. Thota Chandrasekhar, President of the BRS Andhra Pradesh, welcomed several leaders into the party on Tuesday, including Venkata Raju Naidu of Tazaga Anakapalli Constituency, Rajasekhar of Kakinada District, Narsingh of Tuni, and Gade Rani of Srikakulam District, who joined the party at an event at the BRS Andhra Pradesh camp office in Hyderabad.

Chandrasekhar stated in his address that the BRS is committed to the development of Andhra Pradesh and that it will provide a strong alternative to the ruling YSR Congress Party (YCP).

He also hit out at the YCP government for alleged mismanagement and corruption.

“The people of Andhra Pradesh are fed up with the YCP government,” Dr. Chandrasekhar said, adding that they want a change and that the BRS is the only party that can provide them with a better future.

BRS influence grows in Maharashtra

The influence of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s entry into neighboring Maharashtra is becoming more visible by the day, with a growing chorus calling for the replication of Telangana’s Rythu Bandhu in the State.

To preempt the moves of the BRS, which is making deep inroads into the State with its slogan of ‘Ab ki Baar Kisan Sarkar’ already being taken up by farmers after only three public meetings held by Party President and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, the Eknath Shinde government is now driven to yield to the demand for the Telangana Model in some form or another.

The need for Rythu Bandhu or a similar package to help distressed farmers is being emphasized not only by political quarters, social activists and farmers’ unions, but also by key officials of the State administration now.

Senior IAS officer and Divisional Commissioner of Aurangabad, Sunil Kendrekar, spoke to reporters on Tuesday and called for a financial assistance of Rs.10,000 per acre to farmers in Aurangabad, citing an ‘urgent need’.
