BRS Leader Counters Amit Shah’s Telangana Election Claims

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Ravula Sridhar Reddy has sharply reacted to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s comments about the approaching Telangana assembly elections. Reddy that Shah’s aspirations of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) assuming power in Telangana are only fantasies.

Reddy stressed that the BJP’s prospects in Telangana are grim, predicting that they will win less than 5 seats and will not even reach double digits in the elections. He claimed that the people of Telangana are unlikely to support the BJP, claiming that Shah and his party believe they would earn favor in the state.

In reaction to Amit Shah’s classification of BRS as a two-generation (2G) party, Reddy explained that, contrary to what he stated, BRS is not a family-centric party. He questioned the BJP’s legitimacy among Telangana residents, pointing out that the BRS is not a family-oriented party, but rather one concerned with the welfare of the state as a whole. He also chastised the BJP for failing to contribute adequately to Telangana’s development, despite NITI Ayog suggestions.

Previously, Amit Shah referred to the Congress as a ‘4G’ party, implying that it is led by four generations of a single family, and the BRS as a ‘2G’ party, implying that the party is led by two generations. Ravula Sridhar Reddy stated emphatically that the BJP’s aspirations to seize power in Telangana would fail.
