BRS Leader Criticizes Congress for Unfulfilled Election Pledges

Gutakandla Jagadish Reddy, a senior BRS (Bharatiya Rashtravadi Samanata Party) leader and Suryapet MLA, criticized the Congress administration, claiming that the party, as the opposition, has a responsibility to expose the government’s inability to keep election pledges.

In a press conference at his campaign headquarters, Jagadish Reddy declared that the BRS had earlier informed the public that the Congress’ election pledges were unrealistic and only intended to secure votes. He referred to the six guarantees made by Congress as “420” (cheating) poll promises, suggesting that they would pose considerable obstacles to state administration.

Accusing Congress leaders of making irrelevant remarks, Jagadish Reddy stated that Congress leaders’ unhappiness stemmed from the government’s inability to keep its pledges. He emphasized the commencement of power outages in the state following the election of the Congress and condemned the failure to implement the assurance of free power to users for up to 200 units of electricity. According to him, consumers’ electricity bills were forcibly collected for consumption less than 200 units, with threats of tripling the amount the following month if not paid on time.

While admitting that the administration may need time to follow through on its promises, Jagadish Reddy highlighted that continued deceit of the people is not an option. He claimed that Congress leaders, sure that their party would not be elected, boldly chanted pledges during elections that had been created by select persons with no true purpose to implement them. The BRS MLA stated that it is the opposition’s responsibility to hold the incumbent government accountable for its promises and deeds.
