BRS supports farmers and buys every grain they produce: Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar

Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar said the BRS government supports farmers and purchases every grain they produce.

On Thursday, he inaugurated a Mark Fed maize procurement center established by the government at the Chintakani mandal headquarters in the Khammam district. Speaking on the occasion, he stated that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao understands the difficulties faced by farmers and has implemented numerous schemes to assist them.

The Chief Minister has assured farmers that the government will purchase grain damaged by the untimely rains, so farmers should not lose heart. The Telangana government was pro-farmer, and Chandrashekhar Rao was the only leader who made agriculture profitable.

Since the Chief Minister does not want farmers to suffer, he has decided to procure maize. He explained that, in addition to rice, maize cultivation was profitable because maize was very useful in the poultry industry and biscuit making.

Earlier in the day, Ajay Kumar inaugurated a Kanti Velugu camp in Khammam’s 58th division. MP Nama Nageshwar Rao, ZP chairman Lingala Kamal Raju, DCCB chairman K Nagabhushanam, district Collector VP Gautham, and others were among those in attendance.

Puvvada Ajay Kumar additionally instructed officials that Yasangi paddy procurement in Khammam district be completed by the first week of July. The Minister expressed his displeasure over the laxity of officials regarding paddy procurement and transportation.

He questioned the officials about the delay in procuring paddy brought to the procurement centers by farmers. Ajay Kumar had earlier met with officers from various departments, rice millers, and transport contractors to discuss paddy procurement. He directed officials to take measures to ensure that farmers face no difficulties in paddy procurement and transportation.
