Center gives 1400 ventilators to Telangana : Kishan Reddy

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G. Kishan Reddy today said that the Central government had given 1400 ventilators to the state so far. He also said that the ventilators were given under PM CARES funds.

In a statement, Reddy said that the ventilators had been dispatched to various Government Hospitals in Telangana. He said that they had also given the ventilators to those hospitals which do not have even a single ventilator during the ongoing Covid pandemic. “In our country, since independence until past 8 months, we had only 1900 ventilators. They were also imported from different countries. But today through the initiative of Make in India, the Government Hospitals across the country have been provided with 5000 ventilators from PM CARES funds,” he noted .

Reddy said that the Telangana government was getting all sorts of aid and cooperation from the Central government in order to control and contain the Covid pandemic through the provision of Oxygen Cylinders, Establishment of PSA Oxygen Plants, Ventilators, Vaccines, PPE Kits, N-95 Masks, and free ration to the needy poor.
