Centre Neglects Cantonment Area: Srinivas Yadav

Telangana Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today accused the Centre of failing to give funds and develop roads in the Cantonment area.

Despite collecting taxes from the people, the Centre was failing to take care of their issues in the localities, he charged.

Srinivas Yadav held a review meeting with the Cantonment Board MLA Sayanna and officials concerned at Secunderabad.

He said the State government bears Rs 1.50 cr burden as the officials give free water up to 20,000 liters in this location, he said. From February 1 this facility came into force and the people are able to get them, he said.

The Minister said the State government will take up more development works in Cantonment area. The GHMC and HMDA and other wings are working for providing all better facilities for the Cantonment area and the twin cities.

“We offer free water to the people to take 20000 liters a day and take steps to ensure better roads, power and amenities”, he said. “The Cantonment area has some four lakh people and we are for providing better facilities.

The Centre was not giving funds and not opening some of the roads in the area causing inconvenience to the road users and vehicles”, he added.

Though the Centre collects taxes, it was not providing facilities, he charged. The State government was providing all facilities in the Cantonment area, Srinivas said.
