Centre Plans “Mega Event” For India’s Triumph Over Covid; 100 Crore Vaccine Target By October 14

With the rising awareness of the Covid 19 vaccine, India is all set to reach the target of 100 crores vaccine doses on October 14. Following the same, the government has planned a “mega-event” to celebrate the milestone.

Government Brings Vijayadashami Reference With 100 Crores Mark 

An anonymous source informed the media that the target of 100 crore vaccine doses will be achieved by October 14 and the same will be celebrated as India’s triumph over Covid 19 (evil spirit). It will be very much like the Vijayadashami festival which also signifies the victory of good over evil.

He said that the government is pushing their boundaries to achieve the target of 100 crore vaccines by that day. Meanwhile, the Health Ministry has planned to celebrate the achievement in a grand manner on Vijayadashami to symbolically register the victory over Covid 19.

The concerned departments have been instructed to prepare themselves in advance to ensure that the target is met. The celebrations will involve frontline workers, healthcare staff and Covid 19 warriors who died playing a major role in achieving the target.

The source said that the world’s largest vaccination drive against Covid 19 is being conducted in India and it will be a special occasion to celebrate once the target is achieved. There is also a possibility that to mark the occasion, PM Narendra Modi may address the nation.

Six States And Union Territories Have Completed First Dose Vaccinations For All Above 18

As per the latest reports, so far,a  total of 1,03,75,424 first dose of vaccines and 90,36,583 second doses have been administered to the Healthcare workers. The frontline workers have received 1,83,59,259 first dose and 1,53,98,857 second dose vaccines till Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, within the age group of 18-44 years, 38,68,20,261 people have received their first doses. And 10,40,73,546 have got both doses.

Till Tuesday morning, India has administered over 95.89 crore doses of the Covid-19 vaccine with 68.86 lakh being inoculated during the past 24 hours. Also, six states and union territories which includes, Lakshadweep, Chandigarh, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar Islands have completed administering those above 18 with at least first dose.
