Chada urges govt to concede lorry owners demands

Hyderabad: CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy today urged the State government to initiate immediate steps to solve the demands of the striking lorry owners as the prices of essential goods, cement and steel were soaring due to their strike causing hardship to common people.

In a pressnote, Chada said the lorry owners were demanding that the government implement single permit policy in both the Telugu States; abolition of charges of export and import; examine cancellation of licence of driver when accident takes place and so on. The CPI leader asked the State government to implement the demands of lorry owners besides diesel in GST list. He also said there was a need to remove toll gates across the nation and decrease the third party insurance premium immediately to make the lorry owners to withdraw their strike. (NSS)
