Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Assures Housing for Journalists in Hyderabad

In a significant development, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has assures to provide housing to journalists in Hyderabad. The assurance came following a petition presented by the Deccan Journalists’ Housing Society (DJHS) President B.Ravi, Treasurer Chalukuri Ayappa, Directors Danda Ramakrishna, Members Kranti, and others at the Secretariat.

During the meeting, CM Revanth Reddy assured the representatives of DJHS that houses would indeed be allocated to journalists. He directed them to further discuss the matter with Information Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy to finalize the allocation process.

DJHS President Ravi expressed gratitude for the Chief Minister’s responsiveness to their long-standing demand. He recalled how the issue of housing for journalists had been persistently raised over the past decade since the formation of the separate state of Telangana. He commended CM Revanth Reddy for incorporating this concern into the Congress manifesto, a pledge now being honored.

Ravi, emphasizing the welfare of all sections of society, expressed confidence in Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s commitment to realizing the aspirations of journalists. Established after the formation of Telangana, the Deccan Journalists Housing Society (DJHS) comprises over five hundred members representing various media outlets at district and state levels. In their petition to the Chief Minister, they highlighted their diverse roles, from staff reporters to news editors, underscoring their integral contributions to journalism in the region.

The forthcoming discussions with Information Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy are expected to pave the way for the realization of journalists’ long-awaited housing aspirations in Hyderabad. The commitment from the Chief Minister’s office marks a significant step toward addressing the needs of the journalistic community in the city.
