Amaravati: The office of the Director-General of Police of Andhra Pradesh has suspended a Circle inspector who has kicked a Dalit man after an altercation. This incident has occurred in the Srikakulam of Andhra Pradesh
Going to the details Ramesh and Jagan a youth from Tekkali Town of Palasa of Srikakulam Dist approached Kasibugga police station for the Complaint against one another after an altercation has occurred. however, Circle Inspector Venu Gopal kicked Dalit named Jagan in front of her mother. Soon Video clip of the incident went viral on the different platforms of social media. Prompt to this the AP Police Chief office took it seriously and ordered for an inquiry. Following the preliminary inquiry, Visakhapatnam DIG Kalidas Ranga Rao issued orders suspending CI Venugopal.
As the video of this incident went viral several Dalit and human rights groups of the state express their resentment and demanded the government to take serious action against the culprit Circle Inspector.
Principle Opposition leader and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu has also expressed shocked on this incident and alleged that the atrocities against the Dalits of the state have increased in the recent times in the YSRCP government. Meantime, TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh also tweeted on this issue and strongly condemned the incident.
In a series of tweets, Lokesh who is the son of Chandrababu Naidu has condemned this incident. He gave several instances of the atrocities against the Dalit youths. Lokesh
Asked in one of his tweets “Do Dalits have the right to live under Jagan rule? Kiran was beaten to death for not wearing a mask. Varaprasad was beheaded for obstructing illegal sand smuggling”.
“I strongly condemn the CI attack on a Dalit youth in Srikakulam. YSRCP leaders attacked Marri Jagan, a villager from Palasa and Tekkalipatnam, He was beaten in presence of his mother”.
In another tweet, Lokesh demanded that the Strict action should be taken against the police officer who is torturing the people like the YSRCP leaders.
