Hyderabad: Another step has been taken to produce the corona vaccine. The Clinical trials have started at NIMS Covid Hospital, Hyderabad for this purpose.
Doctors have given a dose of covaxin to two volunteers. Pharma giant Bharat Biotech has developed the vaccine in collaboration with the Medical Research Council of India (ICMR) and the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune.
The vaccine was developed at the Biosafety Level 3 laboratory of Bharat Biotech in Hyderabad. It is learnt that the Drug Control Board of India (DCGI) has already approved the vaccine for the first and second phase clinical trials.
