CM Jagan asks officials to double farmers’ income

Amaravati: The Chief Minister of the State YS Jaganmohan Reddy today asked the officials and the representatives of banks from Andhra Pradesh to take steps for doubling the income of the farmers by focussing on the issue. He said that the state government had already provided loans to all farmers.

He made these remarks while addressing the 213th SLBC meeting at his camp office. State ministers kurasala Kanna Babu, Botcha Satyanarayana, and Mekapati Gautam Reddy also attended the meeting. Speaking on the occasion the CM said that the officials and the banks should come to the rescue of the farmers whenever there was a national calamity.

He said that the state government had taken up several steps to reduce the quantum of investment of the farmers and added that the state government was paying ₹13500 through the Rythu Bharosa scheme.

He said that they had also cleared the arrears of the farmers and removed the burden of loss from the heads of the farmers by providing. Crop insurance while noting that the state government was paying the premium amount on behalf of the farmers.

He said that they were setting up 10641 Rythu Bharosa Centers and added that the Centers would extend all kinds of help to the farmers right from the provision of seeds to the sale of the produce. He asked the banks to come forward and extend loans to tenant farmers of the state.
