CM KCR Lays Stone for 3.84 Acres Projects in Narayankhed Area

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today stated that Rs 4,000 cr worth projects of Sangameshwara and Basaveshwara in the Narayankhed segment should be completed in one-and-a-half years.

He said about 4 lakh acres would be irrigated in this time.

KCR laid a foundation stone for the same along with Finance Minister T Harish Rao, in the presence of  MLAs, Padma Devender Reddy, Kranthi Kiran, MPs, and officials concerned. The Chief Minister said four projects — Andole, Narayankhed, Zahirabad, and Sangareddy –will irrigate about 3.84 lakh acres in this area. He appreciated Harish Rao for his commitment for the development of the segment. He said he will lay a foundation for a medical college in Sangareddy and announced sops to municipalities. The Andole segment is getting more water compared to other segments and MLA Kranthi Kiran is lucky, KCR added.

“As Transport Minister, I toured several villages in Narayankhed and other segments which are away from development, irrigation projects, and water. Then I thought to achieve statehood to address these issues and fought for 14 years and took up a fast-unto-death to get Telangana, he said. The CM announced Rs 50 cr each for Sangareddy and Zahirabad corporations and Rs 25 cr for municipalities nearby. He instructed the MPs, MLAs, and officials to make padayatra and complete the projects and address peoples’ issues.

KCR recalled how the segment was deprived of water for irrigation and drinking water earlier during the combined State. There was no water and projects and schemes for the people in the segment and elsewhere, he said, adding that he decided to achieve statehood to address all such issues. “The Centre announced statehood after my prolonged hunger protest and later stalled for some time. We achieved statehood and came up with many ideal schemes for welfare of the poor, women, old aged and others. We broke all the doubts and apprehensions of power, water and industries, and jobs during the statehood movement by some leaders, he said. However, now we have 24-hour power to farm and other sectors in our own state. The State tide d up over the drinking water problem and offered pensions, he claimed.
