CM YS Jagan take part in international women’s day celebrations

The Chief Minister of the State YS Jaganmohan Reddy today took part in international women’s day celebrations at his camp office. He also cut off a cake to mark the celebrations in the presence of his women cabinet colleagues and women officials of the state.

Speaking on the occasion, he conveyed his greetings of the international women’s day to all the women of the state. He said that there was no yardstick to measure the services rendered by the women of the country and the state.

Talking about his 21 months long rule, he said that his government had introduced several welfare programs for the empowerment and development of women. He said that schemes like Amma Vodi. YSR cheyootha, YSR Aasara, Kapu Nestham, YSR Sampoorna Poshana, and house site in the name of women of the state were introduced by his government in the state.  He said that they had also provided 50 percent reservations to the women of the state in the nominated posts. Referring to the 2011 census report he said that 40 percent of the women of the State were still deprived of education and added that they had brought the Amma Vodi scheme to educate all the deprived women of the state.

He said that they had spent  Rs.13220 crore under the Amma Vodi scheme and added that they would spend a total of Rs.32500 crore under the scheme in five years. He said that they had given Rs.4604 crore under the YSR cheyootha scheme. He also said that they had given Rs.27000 crore under the house site distribution scheme. The CM said that his government had spent Rs. 80,000 crore during the last 21 months under Amma Vodi, YSR Cheyootha, and YSR Asara schemes.  The CM said that they had given 20 days of casual leaves to the women employees of the state and added that they had set up Disha police stations in all the 13 districts of the state.

The CM announced that they would introduce a special budget for the women of the state for the first time in the country this year. He also said that they would set up committees in all government and private offices of the state for the prevention of harassment of the women and added that the committees would be set up in all the offices which have more than 10 women employees. Reddy said that they would set up special cells for the women in all the police stations of the state.

CM launches Disha vehicles

The CM flagged off 900 Disha patrol vehicles and 18 Disha crime scene management vehicles. He also inaugurated cyber kiosks which link GPS with the Disha app response team. The CM also launched a scheme called Swecha which is meant to distribute napkins free of cost to the girls of the state.
