Compound wall of HMDA Park Shivrampally Trampled Again

At one hand, the HMDA is issuing orders for safeguarding the lakes in the city, while failing to protect the parks it owns at abutting to Lakes in the city despite the threat of encroachments.

What could be a better president than the HMDA Park Shivrampally itself that despite deliverance from encroachments few years back has not yet come out of the threat with the part of a compound wall keep on trampling down every few months after it was restored.

Second time in the row, the compound wall has received damages at two locations in a similar way it was trampled last year. Though the incident came to light on September 6, the people well acquainted with the area informed that the unnoticed damage was done atleast four weeks ago.

The HMDA Park Shivrampally stands on the banks of historic Bum-Rukn-ud-Daula Lake, very opposite to the National Police Academy on National Highway-44. The desolated park was restored only two years ago after it was reported in sections of media that the land sharks are luring at the deserted park once served as a fully operational HMDS nursery.

Only last year, the HMDA authorities carried out restoration work after finding that the compound wall received damages at two locations. However, just a year after the restoration of the compound wall, two more damages appeared on the same wall at two different locations presumably the same spot which were broken apart last year.

Tugged in an isolation place opening its way through a narrow lane beside Janta Petrol Pump on Shivrampally road, this rejuvenated park was not yet opened for the people though the garden was decorated with a number of beautiful saplings full of flowers almost two years ago.

This is the same park that was restored two years back only after the HANS India has raised the issue underling the threat to the desolated park from the land sharks active in the area. However, except arrangement to revive the part with fully grown vegetation, no proper measures were taken up to protect the part through monitoring the area with CCTV camera surveillance that resulting into frequent mischievous attempts by the vested interest.
