Conduct Cricket Match in Hyderabad: KTR urges BCCI, IPL

IT and Municipal Minister of Telangana KT Rama Rao today urged BCCI and IPL management to conduct the 14th season of IPL cricket match in Hyderabad as the government will offer all support amid the corona pandemic.

Telangana government will extend all support and cooperation for the match and its success, he tweeted. He urged the BCCI and IPL management to include Hyderabad in its list of the cities for the cricket match.

The State has a lower number of corona cases as the government contained its spread and Hyderabad is useful for the cricket match the minister said.

On Twitter, the minister has informed that the government of Telangana is ready to extend all support and make arrangements in Uppal stadium in Hyderabad for the IPL Cricket Match. Consider Hyderabad as the place for the prestigious match as the government is ready to extend all support, the minister said.

The IPL and BCCI are reportedly considering metro cities like Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Delhi and there is no name of Hyderabad yet on its list.  Keeping this in view the minister said that the Telangana Government will offer support for the IPL Cricket Match in the state. Rajiv Gandhi cricket stadium in Uppal is ready to use amid corona protocols, the minister explained. Corona prevented the match for about six months which was held in UAE amid restrictions. Though, the match can be held in Mumbai if the Maharashtra Government gives permission. However, it is unlikely that amid lockdown conditions Maharashtra government may not give permission for the cricket match according to information.
