While Big B and Jr. Bachchan posted the news of their infection with covid-19 late on the night of 11th July, there has been confusion and haziness surrounding the test results of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter, Aradhya Bachchan.
The Minister of Public Health and Family Welfare of Maharashtra, Rajesh Tope, in a tweet said that the 46-year-old actress and her 8-year-old daughter have tested positive for the virus. Jaya Bachchan was told to be tested negative. However, he quickly deleted this tweet sending a wave of skepticism across the country.
His now-deleted tweet read, “Smt. Aishwarya Rai Bacchan & Daughter Aaradhya Abhishek Bacchan have also been detected positive for Covid19. Smt. Jaya Bachhan ji is tested negative for covid19. We wish the Bacchan Family to get well soon with a speedy recovery.”
Earlier, the PTI news agency had reported the Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar saying that Aishwarya and Aaradhya had tested negative for covid-19. There hasn’t been a solid official report regarding both the contrasting news updates. Neither Aishwarya herself nor her family members have confirmed either of the results. Hence, an official statement is awaited.
Nevertheless, the former Miss World and her daughter have been reported to have very mild symptoms and aren’t likely to be admitted to the hospital. They will be getting treated at their home, Jalsa, itself.
The premises of all the 4 bungalows of the Bachchan ownership including Jalsa have been sanitized and sealed. Their residence is now marked as a containment zone. Four members of the Bachchan clan have tested positive for the virus until now.
Through a tweet and a post on Instagram, the father-son duo had posted the news of their positive test results on Saturday night and said that they are hospitalized.
Meanwhile, the Nanavati hospital, where they are admitted had confirmed their infection as mild. Although, they said that the virus takes 10-12 days to fully show its symptoms and expand its horizon in the patient’s body. Amitabh and his son got admitted on their 4th day of infection.
“Today would be 5th day since Amitabh ji’s symptoms had surfaced… have to watch closely for another seven days and see how the disease evolves…in the next 3 days, we will be able to see the evolution trajectory… very likely that he may remain to have a very mild version,” said Dr. Abdul Samad Ansari, head of the hospital’s critical care unit.
The hospital staff further said that Mr. Bachchan is being kept in an isolation ward.
Anupam Kher too tweeted about his family members getting tested positive for covid-19. He said that, fortunately, he has been tested negative.
Actress Rekha’s home is also sealed after her security guard was found to be infected with the virus. Earlier, staff of Boney kapoor and Aamir Khan tested positive but none of their family was infected.
