Meanwhile, a day after Samajwadi Party boss Akhilesh Tyadav claimed transportation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in front of the counting of decisions in favor of Uttar Pradesh Assembly surveys, the Election Commission (EC) has requested activity against Varanasi ADM for supposed infringement of rules, sources said on Wednesday.

“The EC has asked UP Chief Election Officer (CEO) to make a move against Varanasi ADM NK Singh over supposed infringement of rules during the transportation of preparing EVMs,” sources said.

The UP CEO will presently be continuing in like manner.

On Tuesday, Akhilesh Yadav had claimed that the Varanasi District Magistrate (DM) was moving EVMs without giving any data to nearby applicants and asked the EC to investigate it.

We should be ready assuming that the EVMs are being shipped along these lines. This is burglary. We want to save our votes. We might go to court against it yet before that, I need to speak to individuals to save a majority rules system.”
