Congress for Universal Free Vaccination to Give Memorandums to Governor and Collectors

Telangana Congress in-charge and MP Manickam Tagore and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president and Nalgonda MP  N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Thursday called upon the District Congress Committees to submit memorandums to the district collectors on Friday demanding Universal Free Vaccination.

Addressing the DCC presidents and other senior Congress leaders through Zoom App they said that this is a nationwide program and is organized on the instructions of the All India Congress Committee.

They said that memorandums should be prepared in the name of the President of India and they should be submitted to the collectors at the district level. They said that the main demands of Congress are to vaccinate all free of cost and to vaccinate at least one crore every day.

Manickam Tagore and Uttam Kumar Reddy criticized that the BJP government at the Centre and the TRS government at the state have failed to control Covid Pandemic. They said that the BJP government at the Centre did not have a plan to control the Pandemic.

It has supplied vaccines to other countries without taking the requirements of the country into consideration. They made it clear that the only way to control Covid in India is to vaccinate all. That is why Congress has been demanding Universal Free Vaccination and to complete the vaccination on a war footing.

Reddy and Tagore said that a memorandum would be submitted to the Governor in Hyderabad on behalf of the Pradesh Congress Committee on Friday.

The Congress senior leaders criticised that only four percent of the population have been given two doses of vaccine in the country so far. They said Congress strongly demands that all those above 18 years should be given vaccines free of cost.

They informed that Satyagraha Deeksha would be held at Gandhi Bhavan and in DCC offices on June 7 from 9 am to 1 pm demanding free treatment for Covid-19 and black fungus infection in private hospitals.

They criticized that Covid and Black Fungus cases were rising at an alarming rate in Telangana and private hospitals have been charging lakhs of rupees for treatment. They made it clear that free treatment should be provided to all Covid patients. They also demanded that the government should recover the excess amounts collected by the private hospitals as per the directions of the High Court and that amounts should be given back to the patients.

Leader of Congress Party in Assembly Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that the Chief Minister went back on his word on adding Covid treatment to Arogyasri Scheme. He alleged that private hospitals have become a mafia and looting the people.

PCC working president A Revanth Reddy alleged that minister KT Rama Rao has stored the Covid medicines with him and in the guise of supplying them to those who request the medicines through social media, he has been selling them.

He said that a complaint should be made to the Governor on this issue since it was a crime. MLC T Jeevan Reddy said that Congress should wage a movement against the loot of the people by the private hospitals.
