Congress Holds Protest Programs Against Fuel Prices Hike

Congress party today Held a protest program against the increase in petrol ad diesel prices in the country. CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, MP A. Revanth Reddy, Jagga Reddy took part in the protest programs at various places of the state.

Speaking on the occasion MP Revanth Reddy said that the Excise duty imposed on petrol diesel and gas prices in the year 2014 Rs.75000 crore in UPA rule and added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi led central government has imposed excise duty of Rs.3.34 lakh crore. He said that the price of crude oil was $107 during the congress party rule and added that the diesel was sold for just Rs. 54 per liter during their rule.

He said that they had kept the petrol and diesel prices within the reach of the people of the state. He said that PM Modi was not aware of the problems of the common people of the country. He asked the BJP leaders as to why they were not including fuel prices under the GST regime and added that the inclusion of the fuel prices in the GST would bring the taxes being imposed on them to just 28 percent while noting that the petrol would be sold for just Rs. 75 per liter if it is done by the Center.

He said that they would corner the central government in the upcoming session of parliament on the issue of the hike of the fuel prices.

The congress party today held a protest program against the steep rise in the prices of petrol and diesel in the country in Jogulamba Gadwal district. The protest program was held following a call by the All India Congress Committee.

AICC state in-charge SA Sampath Kumar and DCC president Patel Prabhakar Reddy took part in the protest program. Speaking on the occasion, Sampath Kumar said that the prices of petrol and diesel were going up for the last 14 months while the income of the people of the country was coming Down due to the Covid virus pandemic.

He said that the prices of the fuel were under control in the country during the rule of the UPA government despite the high rates of crude oil in the international market.

He said that the prices of the fuel and gas rates had gone up in the country under BJP rule. He demanded the BJP government reduce the prices of fuel and gas immediately.
