Congress President Calls CWC Meeting in Hyderabad Ahead of Telangana Polls

New Delhi: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has convened a meeting of the newly formed Congress Working Committee (CWC) in Hyderabad on September 16. In addition, all Pradesh Congress Committee heads would attend an extended CWC meeting on September 17.

According to AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal, a rally near Hyderabad is planned for the evening of September 17, at which the party will reveal its election assurances for the upcoming Telangana assembly elections. During the announcement, he was accompanied by General Secretary Jairam Ramesh.

On August 20, Kharge reformed the CWC, retaining veteran party members while bringing in younger leaders and renowned G23 members such as Shashi Tharoor and Anand Sharma.

The newly constituted CWC has 39 regular members, 32 permanent invitees, and 13 special invitees, including 15 women and several fresh faces among the regular members, including Sachin Pilot and Gourav Gogoi.
