Controversy over new CEO continues to paralyse Wakf Board operations

Eversince a standoff between the Incharge Chief Executive Officer and the Chairman Telangana State Wakf Board was ensued, an obvious impasse was created out of the absence of the CEO in the board as the official was already shown the door by the Wakf Board through passing a resolution seeking his repatriation during a meeting few days ago.

It is said that no decision has been taken yet regarding the next meeting of the board – scheduled to be held this month, due to the absence of the CEO. It is pertinent to mention here that a decision was taken during the last meeting held on 20 October, that the next meeting will be called on October 29. However, nothing has been decided yet about the proposed meeting.

According to the sources, the Wakf Board sent the resolution seeking repatriation of the Incharge CEO, to the Department of Minority Welfare soon after passing it during a meeting. However, it is learnt that the suggestion was laying unmoved ever since it was sent to the Department of Minority Welfare. This has been said to be the reason behind the present stalemate in the way of calling the next meeting.

It is also said that the members are ready to debate over the agendas being prepared for the next meeting but the absence of the CEO is causing delay in holding the same. According to some members, the Wakf Board, by virtue of authority conferred to it, has sent the services of Shahnawaz Qasim IPS back to the government. So it is not appropriate on the part of the official to attend the meeting  as a CEO.

It is said that police personnels lay siege to the Wakf Board to avoid any untoward incidents ever since controversy erupts between the Incharge CEO and the supporters of the Chairman.

Meanwhile, most of the officers and senior employees went on leaves simply to keep themselves aloof from the controversy between the Incharge CEO Shahnawaz Qasim and the Chairman Mohd.Masiullah Khan. The officials and the employees, who went on leaves are of the view that they cant find it appropriate to return to duty until the deployment of police was revoked from the Board.
