Corona treatment does not exceed Rs 10,000: E.Rajender

Hyderabad: Telangana Health Minister E.Rajender said that the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) Gachibowli Hyderabad has been made fully available as Covid Hospital.

Speaking to reporters after inspecting the TIMS, the minister pointed out that the Gandhi Hospital has been working exclusively for Covid 19 patients in the state, at the same time the TIMS has a 1,350-bed facility including intensive care units(ICUs) and ventilators. The minister who have extensively visited the wards and the rooms of the hospital said that all the rooms in the hospital were re-examined. Patient safety, nursing staff, and medications will also be provided here.

Rajender asked the general masses to visit the hospital without any delay in case of the symptoms of the Covid 19 ie difficulty in breathing etc so that the severity of the virus could contain timely. If one dealy in reaching the hospital it will be difficult for the medicos.

Minister clarified that corona treatment is not expensive and does not exceed Rs 10,000 even if all the oxygen and drugs are combined. He said no treatment would cost lakhs and two lakhs a day. He maintained that the ICUs and treatments are available in all the districts. He said there were enough beds in Chest, Fever Hospital and King Kothi Hospital in the state capital Hyderabad. Liquid oxygen tanks will be set up at Sarojini Eye Hospital, King Kothi, Fever Hospital, Chest Hospital and Osmania Hospital of the Hyderabad. Oxygen is more important to the corona patient than medication.

It may be recalled that the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences is a new tertiary hospital cum research center which has completed in record time by the K.ChanderShekhar Rao led TRS government and it will soon open for the Covid 19 patients, all the facilities have set up here by the state government.
