Coronavirus: No Processions to be Held during Milad-un-Nabi in Goa

Panaji:  Processions in Goa on the event of Milad-un-Nabi have been prohibited by the Association of All Goa Muslim Jamats because of the COVID-19 pandemic, an official statement given on Wednesday declared.

The Jamat president Shaikh Bashir Ahmed has additionally said that while mosques in Goa had been opened for the usual five times each day namaz for citizens living in the nearby proximity of the mosques, social distancing standards, utilization of face masks and frequent utilization of hand sanitizer should be continued.

Milad-un-Nabi will be seen in the nation on October 30.

The announcement said, “The president along with the executive members of our association has decided not to have any ‘julus’ or processions on October 30 to celebrate Milad-ul-Nabi in Goa. This advisory has been issued to all the masjid committees, jamats, and organizers of processions in the state.” He continued, “This decision has been made keeping in mind the protection of our community members and the society at large. We encourage all to continue to be cautious in their day-to-day life by strictly implementing social distancing, compulsory usage of face masks, and utilizing of hand sanitizers as the dread of the virus is still around us, and therefore we can’t be complacent.”

In Bangalore,  The state government has prohibited gatherings and protests out in the open on the event of the Milad Un Nabi and prohibited any sort of public program. The choice was taken by the government to decrease the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

An announcement given by the government said that “no program, festivity or cultural programs would be held in an open spot during day or night on the event of Milad Un Nabi”.

Every one of these rules has been given over by the state government to the Waqf Board including government authorities and it has been led to be spread over the state.

PM Narendra Modi, in his speech to the country on Tuesday, October 20, asked residents not to drop their guards in the battle against the novel COVID-19 throughout the festive season as the infection is still around despite the fact that limitations have been eased.
