Counterfeit Cash Gang Busted in Hyderabad, Fake Notes Seized

On Thursday, August 10, the Kalapathar police station in Hyderabad detained four people for attempting to spread counterfeit cash notes and defraud residents in the city. The cops seized phony currency notes worth Rs 69.04 lakh as well as four mobile phones from the accused.

The four suspects, identified as Zahid Khan, Mohd Rayeezuddin, Mohammed Anwar, and Mohammed Muneer Ali, had formed a gang with the goal of scamming people using counterfeit currency, according to DCP P Sai Chaitanya of the South Zone.

The chief accused, Zahid, allegedly got the counterfeit cash notes from a man named Naveeduddin. The ‘Children’s Bank of India’ was printed on the counterfeit notes. The goal of the group was to hide the bogus notes among real banknotes and then hand the bundles over to business owners at crowded establishments.

The offenders were captured and the bogus cash notes were recovered after police received a tip. A special team has been formed to find down Naveeduddin, and additional research is being conducted to determine the main source of the counterfeit cash.
