Covid 19 pandemic hit the fashion and textiles industry

Hyderabad: Perturbed moments are hunting the owners of several business establishments of State Capital Hyderabad during the post lockdown period. At the same time, an uneasy calm scenes are prevailing in the stores where hustle and bustle activities were witnessed earlier.

Textiles and fashion stores/ Clothes stores effects so much from the COVID pandemic. Many stores, shops, and malls which were full of customers earlier are a deserted look. The owners of these shops are facing peculiar, Catch22, and despairful state of affairs as the customers are not showing their interest despite the high offers.

One of the owners of a noted store says “ We are facing troublesome moments during this pandemic, we have experienced a drop of sale and lot of difficulties in this period. The sale was dropped up to 70 to 80 Percent although we are taking all types of precautions for the customers such as maintaining Physical distance, Using sanitizers, etc however the business has largely affected” Answering about the income he hoped that it will be revived in the future course. The situation is so grim that the customers are not even showing their interest in shopping after higher discounts in malls as well. Only a handful of customers are seen in the shops.

No customers are seen in the food courts, mobile stores, and beauty brands as well. Only 10 to 20 % of sales are seen in the stores. The owners expect to increase in the business once the effects of the Pandemic comes to end. On the other hand, the customers pointed out that the situation is not good for buy something as the income also comes drastically and the Corona spreads in every nook and corner of the State and the large no of cases are recording in the Hyderabad and it has frightened one and all. The chances of reviving the business in one month are bleak. The shop owners are helpless as they are unable to pay the salaries of the workers of their shops that forced them to cut short the no of employees.
