Covid Vaccines and Appropriate Behaviour May Delay Third Wave; Medical Expert

After the deadly second wave of the Covid 19 pandemic in India, there are apprehensions of the third wave. However, some medical experts suggest that the third wave of Covid 19 might not be as deadly as the previous one.

Covid Appropriate Behaviour May Delay Third Wave of Covid 19 

Amidst the rising fears of the third wave of Covid 19, senior doctors in the government run hospitals in Delhi are of the view that there are chances that a third wave might hit the country during September and October. However, if Covid 19 appropriate behaviour is not followed appropriately, it is possible that the third wave might hit in August.

Dr N.K. Arora, a member of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) spoke to the media, He said that vaccination along with Covid appropriate behaviour may minimize the effect of Covid 19 third wave.

He said that the analysis for all Covid vaccines administered so far, both in India and overseas, have proven to be effective against Covid 19. They might not be 100 percent effective but the vaccines have minimized the damage.

 

Dr Arora said that even if the country is able to control the number of deaths, they’d have something to control over the deadly pandemic. At the same time, it will also depend on new variants and their level of transmission and effectiveness.

Medical Expert Blames More-Infectious Variants For Deadly Second Wave of Covid 19

Talking about the deadly second wave of Covid 19, Dr Arora said that the major factor behind the same was the rise of more-infectious variants like the Alpha Variant and the Delta Variant.

“We need to understand that new variants will emerge one after another but, we need to have focus on protective solution instead of running behind every new variant,” Dr Arora added.
